crazily in every direction now. karl rove, the architect of the iraq war, the escapee from the cia scandal, the proud sponsor of the conservative feats in 2006 and twoit who wasted fat cat money by the tens of millions, that karl rove is thumping around the country right now like a wounded elephant threatening to crush the party's fringes. tea partiers, look out. he may not be able to beat democrats but he's got big, bad you in his sights. so the fight has begun. while steve king, matt kibby, joe walsh, rush limbaugh, all the inhas been nants of the cuckoo nest are cscrambling because karl rove is drawing lines in the sand. want republicans to win? cut out the crazies he he's? want the democrats, stop giving them easy targets, rape candidates and witches. stop making the democrats look smart and reasonable by running stupid and crazy candidates. the joy is, i have to say this, and it's really quite funny, each of the right wing factions thinks that they are the same ones, they are the ones who have to protect the party from the others. well, tonight the duel to the death drives deeper. it'

for a rethinking of immigration reform. on the official republican side, you have karl rove who's a fox contributor leading this effort to create a super pac to get rid of candidates like steve king in iowa or everyone remembers todd akin in missouri. these candidates that they think are not electable in general elections. >> you know, it's interesting about fox, yesterday you guys, "politico" had -- and i just saw it as i was reading this. okay, seriously? how much worse can it get for conservatives? it's like kicking the elephant when it's down and dying here. i think dylan byers put up a poll that talked about the most trusted networks and the least trusted networks and talked about how fox's -- people's trust in fox has gone down. fox still, obviously, was well above a lot of other networks. but i thought the real kick in the teeth of conservatives was the most trusted network in america by almost a 2-1 margin while everybody else was upside down. did you read dylan's post? do you know what the answer to that is? >> i don't know the answer to that. i must confess, i did not read it yet. >> b.s.

of unity in the g.o.p. rights now, you are one of the more conservative senators, people like karl rove are saying you have got to back off and bobby jindal you have got to come to the senator more. could you see that? >> it sort of depends on the issue. with immigration reform i am in favor of immigration reform. do i think you have to have border security and what i'm proposing is that we have a report eve year for five years and the reform only goes forward if we approve the report. it comes back in congress and votes on it each year. i think you could then secure the border and get conservatives to support normalizing the people who are here. so on immigration i think there is a middle position that the country is ready for. >> bill: on gun control, the democrats and liberal media commentators are basically saying you have got to get rid of the assault rifles. you have got to get rid of a lot of these things and the republican party basically says no, we don't want that. so the casual voter is not really following the ins and outs of this, basically says there are those republicans
